We don’t try and be all things to all people, but rather specialise in investment advice and retirement planning. We are not the biggest, which means we can offer you a more personal service and lower costs.
Our senior adviser Alan Clarke (AFA) has over 23 years experience, having been involved full time in financial services in the Bay of Islands since 1986. He is now an AFA (authorised financial adviser) which in 2011 is a new authority issued by the NZ Securities Commission. This is the highest licence that a financial adviser can hold under the present reulations, and Alan was one of the first 50 to be authorised.
He also has a Diploma in Business Studies endorsed for personal financial planning from Massey University, and is a member of the Society of Independent Financial Advisers (SIFA) and the Professional Advisers Association (PAA).
Alan actively seeks to grow his knowledge by :
- Gaining at least 20 education credits annually
- complying with SIFA and PAA standards of professional practice
- attending various industry conferences
- regularly attending other financial planning conferences
- reading widely
- purchasing comprehensive investment research from a number of sources
On a more personal note, Alan has been married to Donna for 33 years and has 4 adult children.
Alan & Donna enjoy the beach, travel, boating, painting (Donna) and gliding.
Alan is the NZ agent for Pipistrel Motor gliders and he regularly flies his demonstrator aircraft, both in the Bay of Islands and also around NZ.
